Gas Fireplace Service Technician
Responsibilities
- Diagnostics, service, repair, and maintenance of gas fireplaces, gas inserts, gas stoves, gas log sets, and direct vent appliances.
- Annual maintenance, cleanings, safety inspections, and operational testing.
- Troubleshooting ignition systems, pilot assemblies, valves, blowers, controls, venting systems, and electrical components.
- Verification of installations meeting manufacturer specifications and applicable building codes.
- Gas leak testing, combustion and draft evaluations, and appliance safety checks.
- Clear explanation of findings, repair options, and recommendations to customers.
- Thorough documentation of service calls using ServiceTitan.
- Maintenance of company vehicle, inventory, and tools in a clean and organized manner.
- Collaboration with installers, sales staff, and office personnel for an outstanding customer experience.
- Professional development through ongoing education and staying updated on industry standards.
Requirements
- Current NFI Gas Specialist Certification (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience servicing and repairing gas hearth appliances.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Working knowledge of direct vent, B-vent, vent-free, and gas log systems.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and technical documentation.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, crawl spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
- CSIA, NCSG, or additional NFI certifications are a plus.
