Gas Fireplace Service Technician

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics, service, repair, and maintenance of gas fireplaces, gas inserts, gas stoves, gas log sets, and direct vent appliances.
  • Annual maintenance, cleanings, safety inspections, and operational testing.
  • Troubleshooting ignition systems, pilot assemblies, valves, blowers, controls, venting systems, and electrical components.
  • Verification of installations meeting manufacturer specifications and applicable building codes.
  • Gas leak testing, combustion and draft evaluations, and appliance safety checks.
  • Clear explanation of findings, repair options, and recommendations to customers.
  • Thorough documentation of service calls using ServiceTitan.
  • Maintenance of company vehicle, inventory, and tools in a clean and organized manner.
  • Collaboration with installers, sales staff, and office personnel for an outstanding customer experience.
  • Professional development through ongoing education and staying updated on industry standards.

Requirements

  • Current NFI Gas Specialist Certification (required).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience servicing and repairing gas hearth appliances.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Working knowledge of direct vent, B-vent, vent-free, and gas log systems.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, crawl spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
  • CSIA, NCSG, or additional NFI certifications are a plus.
