Garvan Gardens Technology Specialist
Summary of Job Duties
Located onsite in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the Garvan Gardens Technology Specialist is responsible for the administration, support, maintenance, and enhancement of technology systems that support daily operations, guest experiences, events, education programs, and business functions throughout Garvan Woodland Gardens. This position serves as the primary technology resource for staff and coordinates technology services across the Gardens, including computer systems, networking, audiovisual technology, security systems, telecommunications, and digital visitor engagement platforms. The Technology Specialist provides both strategic and hands-on technical support to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology services while promoting exceptional customer service for staff, visitors, volunteers, and event partners. This position reports to University IT Services and will work cross functionally across multiple teams at IT Services and coordinates support for Business Applications, Network Infrastructure, and IT Support when escalation is required. Additionally, this position may be required to do asset inventory and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a technical degree from an accredited institution
- At least three years of computer support experience
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- At least five years of computer support experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with device management software, such as KACE, SCCM, JAMF, Intune, or similar
- Experience providing customer support to stakeholders at all levels of an organization
- Experience with VBO or other ticketing software
- Experience with network infrastructure such as network switches or wireless access points
Skills & Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze computer system problems/errors and devise corrective measures
- Ability to read and interpret technical literature and documentation
Additional Information
- This position is located in-person in Hot Springs, AR and remote work is not offered.
- As a University of Arkansas, Fayetteville employee, minimal travel to Fayetteville will be required two to three times a year.
