Garden Center Merchandiser

About the role

The Simply Set team is seeking a passionate individual who enjoys working outdoors and has a deep understanding of plants and gardening. This position offers an opportunity to work with a family-owned wholesale grower specializing in seasonal products like annuals, perennials, and vegetables. You will be part of a team that partners with major retailers to supply high-quality plant material and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Display, merchandise, and maintain live plant products in large garden center environments.
• Train and support other associates on procedures, displays, and proper watering practices.
• Engage with customers and provide assistance as needed.
• Work across multiple store locations when required.
• Collaborate effectively with store personnel to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain regular communication with the Team Lead and promptly report any special requests or needs.

Requirements

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong customer service skills.
• A commitment to following management direction and executing client initiatives.

Essential Duties

• Reliable transportation with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Saturday work is required as part of the role. During peak season, employees may also be required to work holidays.
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. as needed.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Smartphone required for taking photos during each store visit and submitting them to the Team Lead.
