About the role

Under general supervision, you will oversee daily operations in a County garage. The position involves supervising and participating in the maintenance and repair of County-owned automotive equipment, maintaining records of garage activity, and contributing to the budget process by providing departmental managers with anticipated operational costs, staffing, and equipment needs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in the maintenance and repair of County-owned automotive equipment.
• Maintain records related to garage activity.
• Assist in the budget process by providing anticipated operational costs, staffing, and equipment needs to departmental managers.
• Ensure a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with other County departments to develop vehicle specifications for the purchasing process.
• Provide technical guidance, leadership, and ongoing training to staff to ensure work aligns with automotive standards and departmental goals.
• Supervise Auto Mechanics and other subordinate technical and support staff.
• Perform related work as required.
