About the role

This Garage Door Technician role is a chance to turn your mechanical aptitude and people skills into a long-term, high-earning career. You will be trained to diagnose, repair, and install garage doors and openers while having direct impact on the safety and security of our customers’ homes. You will run your own route in a company-provided vehicle, manage your day in the field, and control your income through the quality of your work and the level of service you provide.

Responsibilities

• Visit customers on-site to diagnose issues with garage doors and openers, clearly explain findings, and recommend options for repair, replacement, or new installation.
• Complete high-quality repairs and installations of garage doors, operators, springs, and related components, ensuring safe, reliable operation.
• Educate customers on the work being done, review completed jobs with them, and make sure they understand how their system operates and is maintained.
• Use our proven sales and service process to present solutions, secure customer approval, and accurately process payments using a tablet.
• Maintain and organize inventory, tools, and parts in your company vehicle so you are prepared to complete most jobs on the first visit.

What Success Looks Like

• Within your first 60 days, complete our training program, safely perform core repairs independently, and consistently follow our service process.
• Within your first 6 months, achieve strong customer satisfaction scores and positive reviews by delivering professional, timely, and courteous service.
• Regularly complete jobs right the first time, minimize callbacks, and follow all safety practices while driving and working on-site.
• Effectively manage your daily schedule to fully address customer needs, help as many customers as possible, and grow your commission-based earnings.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and mechanical equipment; experience in the garage door or trades industry is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on your feet, bending, climbing, and kneeling in non-climate-controlled garages and outdoor conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to speak with new people, build trust, and explain technical issues in simple terms.
• Reliable, safety-minded, and accountable, with the ability to use a tablet/iPad, follow proven processes, and perform in a fast-paced field environment.

Pay

Competitive pay that will meet or beat any trade, with typical first-year earnings between $60,000 and $100,000; minimum base pay of $800 per week during your first 60 days, followed by commissions on completed work.

Schedule

Field-based work in the San Antonio area, traveling to customer locations in a company vehicle.
