Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical components or machine parts
- Adjust and test equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Repair or replace worn or broken door parts using hand tools
- Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair
- Install hardware or other interior fixtures
- Fabricate parts or components
- Learn the product line well in order to build relevant estimates for the customer
- Collect payments for good or services
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Well kept, organized, efficient, and possess practical problem-solving skills
- Mechanical comprehension is key
- Willing to interact with customers daily and maintain patient and respectful behavior
- Willing to take direction from superiors to become a professional in this role
Basic Position Requirements
- Previous service technician or installer experience in the garage door industry or home services industry is preferred but not required
- Mechanical and technical skills, with a willingness to continue learning
- Physically able to move items weighing 75 lbs or higher
- Able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time
- Possess interpersonal skills to relate to customers and solve issues
- Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable and self-motivated
