Gambling Outreach Worker - Joliet

Essential Duties

• Providing problem gambling education, screenings and referrals throughout the community served (Will County-Joliet) including but not limited to activations arranged as part of the Illinois sponsored “are you really winning” campaign.
• Providing “brief intervention” to individuals identified to have concerns regarding gambling whether the individual accepts a treatment referral or not.
• Providing problem gambling education, screening, brief intervention and referral to Family Guidance Centers’ patients as appropriate.
• Distributing gambling education materials to organizations in the community, for example, behavioral health organizations, social service organizations, establishments that have gambling such as video gaming terminals etc.
• S supporting patients accessing care on FGC’s mobile harm reduction unit including conducting initial screening/brief intervention, arranging transportation, and ensuring ongoing engagement in treatment at a community-based provider.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday (8:00a - 4:30p); with flexibility to support program needs
