Essential Duties
- Aid in coordinating agency-wide gambling outreach services and activities, aligning with the Illinois-sponsored “Are You Really Winning?” campaign.
- Provide problem gambling education, screenings, and referrals throughout the Cook County community, including activations from the “Are You Really Winning?” campaign.
- Offer “brief intervention” to individuals who may be concerned about gambling, regardless of whether they accept a treatment referral.
- Provide problem gambling education, screenings, brief interventions, and referrals to Family Guidance Centers' patients as needed.
- Distribute gambling education materials to various community organizations, such as behavioral health organizations, social service organizations, and establishments with gambling facilities.
- Conduct direct outreach to individuals facing substance use, homelessness, or other barriers to care, offering harm reduction education, distributing supplies, and explaining FGC programs in accessible language to enhance awareness of available services.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday (8:00a - 4:30p); with flexibility to support program needs.

Experience and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with an associate's degree preferred.
- Experience in behavioral health, community health outreach, substance use harm reduction, withdrawal management programs, medication-assisted treatment, and/or community relations.
- Lived experience with substance use and/or problem gambling and successful recovery.
- Certification as a Community Health Worker or Peer Support Specialist preferred.
- Current Driver’s License and Vehicle Insurance.
