FY27: Team Leader, ELD, Earle B. Wood MS, 1.0 FTE
About the Role
The Middle School Team Leader is responsible for coordinating and managing the operations of a grade level team. This role involves facilitating collaboration among teachers, analyzing student achievement data, and ensuring school improvement targets are met. The Team Leader promotes student and parent engagement, participates on the Leadership Team, and supports the implementation of school initiatives. Additional time and compensation are provided to support these responsibilities.
This position includes required summer days for which you will be compensated at your regular rate of pay. The role involves co-taught EML (English as a Multilingual Language) classes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the operations of a grade level team.
- Facilitate collaboration among teachers across grade level teams.
- Analyze grade level and individual student achievement data to ensure school improvement targets are met.
- Promote and facilitate student and parent engagement.
- Participate on the Leadership Team to implement school initiatives.
- Attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.
- Apply the six performance standards of the MCPS Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS).
Requirements
- Holds, or is within one year of completing, a master’s degree or its equivalent in semester hours from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three years of outstanding teaching experience, with one year of MCPS teaching experience preferred.
- Experience teaching in middle school.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and administrators.
- Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and technology.
- Knowledge of grade level curriculum, assessment, instruction, and the middle school child.
- Understanding of the master schedule and Baldrige tools and practices.
- Outstanding facilitation, organizational, and management skills.
- Excellent oral, written communication, and collaboration skills.
- Meets Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements for a middle school assignment.
Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience may be considered.
Selection and Evaluation
- Selected by the principal and a team that includes teachers from the grade level team.
- Evaluated using the standards of the Teacher Professional Growth System.
- When the career lattice is implemented, team leaders will need to achieve lead teacher status.
Pay
The wage range for this position is a salary between $66,690 and $135,745 based on education and experience.
