Summary Description

The Middle School team leader coordinates and manages the operations of a grade level team. Responsibilities include facilitating, collaborating with all stakeholders, analyzing data, promoting student and parent engagement, and participating on the Leadership Team.

• Required to attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.

Job Specific Information

• The wage range for this position is a salary between $64,591 and $131,472 based on education and experience.

• This job includes required summer days for which you will be compensated at your regular rate of pay.

• Knowledge of grade level curriculum, assessment, and instruction.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
• Understanding of the middle school child.
• Ability to work well with students, teachers, and administrators.
• Strong skills in data collection and analysis of formative and summative data sources.
• Strong technology skills.
• Knowledge of and understanding of master schedule.
• Knowledge of Baldrige tools and practices.
• Outstanding facilitation, organizational, and management skills.
• Excellent oral, written communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of and application of the six performance standards that have been established for the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS).

Education, Training, and Experience

• Holds, from an accredited institution, a master's degree or its equivalent in semester hours of credit or is within one year of fulfilling this requirement.
• Has had a minimum of three years of outstanding teaching experience, one year of MCPS teaching experience preferred.
• Experience teaching in middle school.
• Demonstrates excellent skills in working effectively with people.

Certification and License

Mets the appropriate Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements for a middle school assignment.
