About the role
The Office & Community Engagement Assistant provides administrative and program support to The Mission by assisting with client intake, office operations, communications, volunteer engagement, and special events. This position serves as a welcoming first point of contact for clients, volunteers, donors, and community partners while helping ensure the office operates efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients, volunteers, donors, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist with client intake, including completing forms, collecting information, and directing individuals to appropriate services.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and general inquiries.
- Provide administrative support including filing, data entry, copying, scanning, and maintaining records.
- Aid in volunteer recruitment, scheduling, communication, and appreciation activities.
- Coordinate volunteer orientations and provide support during volunteer service opportunities.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and supporting fundraising and community events.
- Prepare event materials, registration packets, signage, and other resources as needed.
- Aid in social media updates, newsletters, or other communications when requested.
- Help maintain an organized, welcoming, and professional office environment.
- Perform other administrative and program support duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a student in good academic standing.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
- Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
- Must attach Fall 2026 class schedule.
- Must attach a Resume.
- Must have received and accepted a work study award for the FALL semester.

Pay
Targeted hourly pay of $12.00, depending on education and experience.
Schedule
Position available August 24, 2026 through May 14, 2027. Schedule flexible around student's work schedule. 10-20 hours per week.
Travel
Not required.
