About the role
Provides subject-matter-expert (SME) support services to the Army Wargaming Branch of the Future Warfare Division (FWD) throughout the design and execution of the Future Study Program (FSP). The Model & Simulation Specialist will support all aspects of wargame/event execution, including:
- Ensuring the correct configuration of wargame software, data, simulations, simulators, servers, and tools used within a distributed simulation event.
- Verifying scenario data and unit/entity composition, properties, system performance characteristics, and locations are accurate at exercise instantiation.
- Interfacing with all external participants and directing all aspects of distributed simulation events, including in-stride management of hardware, software, and data changes, and management of stop/start/restart and checkpoint reset operations.
- Ensuring simulation event data is captured and archived to support After-Action Review (AAR) and report generation activities.
Requirements
- At least four (4) years of experience in the planning, integrating, and executing of distributed/multi-site simulation (including all elements of event development, testing, and integration) to examine and analyze Future Service Concepts, Capabilities, and Force Structures in the context of military formations from Brigade to Division-level operating in a Joint, Interagency, and Multinational force environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Modeling and Simulation, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research/Systems Analysis, Information Systems Management, or a related field.
- Active Secret clearance eligibility.
- Proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in Army, Joint, or hobby wargaming.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with senior General Officer (GO)/Flag Officer (FO)/Senior Executive Service (SES) officials.
- Experience working in Joint and Army Command headquarters.
- Proficiency with SQL and/or Power BI.
Pay
Target salary range: $75,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Schedule
Travel as required, estimated at 10-15% per year.
