About the Role

As Store Manager, you’ll lead every aspect of your store’s day-to-day operations and future success. You’ll set the standard for amazing customer experiences, top-notch employee performance, and budget-beating sales. This role is ideal for someone who loves people, cares about making the world a better place, and knows how to run a show. You’ll mentor, lead, and inspire while having fun and changing lives through cycling.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Performance – 50%
    • Drive sales by leading from the floor and being one of the top two performing salespeople.
    • Support financial goals through annual budgeting, financial reviews, and team coaching.
  • Staff Performance – 25%
    • Lead training across all key areas and validate through observation, role-play, and tools like Trek U.
    • Host bi-weekly leadership meetings with your leadership team and directly responsible individuals (DRIs) to review performance and plan ahead.
  • Store Merchandising & Operations – 15%
    • Maintain an organized, shopper-friendly store with strong merchandising and displays.
    • Oversee store operations including inventory management, supply management, and QuickBooks exports.
  • Human Resources – 10%
    • Manage hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and team development.
    • Support all HR processes including discipline and team engagement.

Requirements

  • Retail Know-How: Solid understanding of retail fundamentals like KPIs, profit & loss statements, and budgets.
  • Leadership Experience: At least 1 year of experience leading a team, with skills in coaching and inspiring others.
  • Retail Roots: At least 2 years of experience in the retail world.
  • Operational Chops: Experience with inventory, merchandising, payroll, scheduling, and customer service.
  • Love for Bikes: Passion for cycling, whether as a daily commuter, weekend warrior, or advocate for bikes making the world better.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think quickly and figure things out even when the path isn’t clear.
  • Communication Game: Clear, respectful, and effective communication in all formats—email, team huddles, or customer interactions.
  • Comfort with Change: Flexibility and resourcefulness to adapt to the fast-paced retail environment.
