About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Furniture Relocation Laborer Lead to assist with moving, loading, unloading, and positioning furniture at residential and commercial locations. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. The Furniture Relocation Laborer Lead supports PCI Support Services and reports to the project manager. This position is 100% on site. Candidates will be required to enter federal government facilities and therefore must pass drug and background screenings.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and transport furniture and household items safely
  • Lift, carry, and maneuver heavy objects up and down stairs and through tight spaces
  • Wrap, pad, and secure furniture to prevent damage during transport
  • Disassemble and reassemble furniture as needed
  • Follow supervisor instructions and work efficiently as part of a team
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, truck, and job site
  • Treat customers and their property with professionalism and care
  • Follow all safety guidelines and proper lifting techniques

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year verifiable job-related experience required
  • Well organized, reliable, and responsible
  • Must be able to routinely walk up and down stairs, climb ladders, stand, bend, and carry items weighing from 50-80 pounds
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to adequately and successfully perform all aspects of this position
  • Ability to lift 50–100 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual labor
  • Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow directions and work well with others
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Prior moving, warehouse, or labor experience is a plus but not required
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license

  • Ability to work in a production environment
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, which may require sitting for prolonged periods
  • Ability to quickly adjust controls, see details at close range, respond quickly to signals, and quickly move hands with arms to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
  • Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person in a noisy environment, before groups, and over the telephone
  • Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance, reach, push, and pull
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
