About the role

Surface Experts is a national brand expanding our local team. We are looking for a field technician who enjoys hands-on work, variety, and creative problem-solving for repairs that typically take less than an hour.

Responsibilities

• Visit 4+ customer sites daily to perform on-site work orders, customer service, and follow-ups
• Work with a variety of customers across industries including property management, hotels, movers, and builders
• Provide world-class customer service to tenants and property management staff
• Track work progress and notes in our CRM/dispatch tool
• Communicate with the support team regarding questions or challenges
• Follow our unique 5-step repair process
• Use each tool in your custom toolkit to problem-solve repairs creatively

Requirements

• Experience in making or repairing furniture, carpentry, or fine woodworking
• Understanding of different finishes such as lacquer, varnishes, oils, and blends
• Experience working with your hands (e.g., construction, manufacturing, painting, or hobbies)
• Ability to identify, compare, and recreate colors (art background helpful but not required)
• Willingness to commit to learning a skill that may take months to master
