About the Role
This full-time position is located in Jacksonville, FL within the MRO/Furnishings division. The role reports directly to the Department Lead and offers opportunities for growth and career advancement in the aviation industry.
Responsibilities
- Safely perform painting and detailing of aircraft under minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of sanding parts and components.
- Properly clean parts and components prior to painting.
- Mask parts and components prior to application of coating.
- Use strippers and apply chemical conversion coatings.
- Repair and complete modifications on aircraft.
- Operate lifts, power buffers, arc welders, and spray guns.
- Properly dispose of hazardous waste and follow color charts.
- Report unserviceable equipment to lead/manager.
- Demonstrate safe working practices and techniques.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and pass a respirator fit test physical.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as required.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and pay close attention to details.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work alone and in a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a related field with strong mechanical skills.
- Minimum 2 years' experience within the aerospace/aviation industry (preferred).

Training Requirements
Mandatory training will be conducted online unless otherwise specified and must be completed within the first 3 months of employment:

- General Procedures Manual (GPM)
- Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM)
- Human Factors
- WHMIS
- Respect in the Workplace Training
- Workplace Violence and Harassment Training
- Workplace Sensitivity Training
- Workplace Bullying Training for Employees
Supervisors with direct reports must also complete:
- A Guide to Workplace Incident Investigations
- Duty of Persons Directing Work (Bill C-45)
- Management Development Program (instructor-led)
- Occupational Health and Safety Awareness Training for Supervisors
- Progressive Discipline
- Supervisor 101 - Avmax Internal Training (instructor-led)
Safety Committee members must complete additional training:
- A Guide to Workplace Incident Investigations
- Health and Safety Committee Training for Committee Members
Elective programs/courses may be approved for career progression or skill development.
