Furnace Operator
About the role
Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. is seeking a Furnace Operator for their facility in Indianapolis, IN. This position operates on a 3rd shift schedule from 10:00 PM to 06:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and follow Product Manufacturing Instructions (PMIs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and production schedules to execute daily tasks safely and efficiently.
- Support and participate in safety initiatives and policies as needed.
- Operate and maintain large-scale powder production equipment, including atomizers, spray dryers, power cabinets, blenders, screeners, forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes, and pallet jacks.
- Complete minor to moderate machine adjustments and maintenance repairs as needed.
- Perform calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and weight percentage conversions across various units of measure.
- Work in a challenging environment that requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, hand and finger manipulation, stooping, crouching, climbing, and lifting up to 44 lbs.
- Wear a respirator, flame-resistant (FR) clothing, and appropriate safety gear while adhering to safety and quality protocols.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- High proficiency in reading, understanding, and following complex work instructions with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience operating plant equipment and industrial vehicles.
- Strong mechanical skillset for completing minor to moderate machine adjustments and maintenance repairs.
- Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- The ability to safely wear and work while using a full-face or half-face respirator.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, across all units of measure.
- Physical capability to perform tasks that involve frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, hand and finger manipulation, as well as occasional stooping, crouching, climbing, and lifting up to 44 lbs.
- Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- The ability to train on 1st shift as required.
