Funeral Services Coordinator

This position is responsible for scheduling all funeral service needs inclusive of musicians and officiants. It also involves coordinating the service team schedules in conjunction with scheduled chapel times according to the needs of business.
About the Role
Celebrate lives and associate well. This role involves performing a variety of customer service functions such as answering phones, filing, data entry, and proofreading. It also includes preparing checks requests when needed and monthly statement reports. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating all service details to ensure service excellence is met with every family served at Rose Hills.
Responsibilities
- Speak with families to coordinate musical selections.
- Recruit quality musicians and clergy to assist RH families.
- Build strong relationships with different religious affiliates, officiants, clergy, etc. and work with them daily for purposes of scheduling.
- Build strong relationships with our audio/visual technicians and work with them daily for purposes of scheduling.
- Strong audio/visual background with computer skills to oversee and maintain equipment.
- Delegates duties to service team in a courteous and professional manner.
- Direct and/or assist with funeral services when needed.
- Handle customer changes with willingness, friendliness, and a “can-do” attitude: accommodate customer needs with flexibility to ensure a high level of positive customer service.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Minimum of 2 years customer service-industry knowledge a plus.
- Stable employment history.
- High School Diploma or GED.

- Good written and oral communication as well as interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to wear a radio/ radio and ear piece for consistent communication during your scheduled shift.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Problem solving skills, detail oriented and display a high level of integrity.
- Punctuality and sense of urgency to serve families daily.
- Self-motivated and flexible.
- Warmth, compassion, and empathy.
- Ability to work positively with other people.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and differentiate level of importance.
- Ability to work in a highly emotional environment.
- Knowledge of audio/visual media a plus.
- Bi-Lingual a plus.
- Able to train others.
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for long durations of time.
- Must have the ability to frequently lift a minimum of 50lbs. and occasionally lift 100+ lbs and work with and around human remains.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License reflecting a good driving record.
