The Role

The Funeral Service Assistant supports funeral and memorial services, ensuring a seamless and respectful environment for families and guests. This role is part-time and service-focused, ideal for someone who can provide dependable, composed, and caring support during meaningful moments.

What You’ll Do

• Welcome and assist families and guests with warmth, professionalism, and empathy during visitations, services, and memorial gatherings.
• Prepare service areas prior to services, including arranging seating, placing floral tributes, organizing memorial materials, and ensuring spaces are clean and presentable.
• Support Funeral Directors during services by assisting with processional coordination, guest guidance, and special family requests.
• Escort and assist families during cemetery services as needed, ensuring a smooth and respectful transition.
• Maintain the overall appearance and readiness of the funeral home, chapels, reception areas, and public spaces.
• Aid with light administrative and operational tasks, including answering phones, organizing materials, and supporting daily funeral home operations.
• Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and respect for cultural, religious, and personal traditions at all times.

What You Bring

• Prior customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• Professional demeanor and appearance required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate compassionately and respectfully.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record (if driving is required).
