About the Role
Provides entry-level maintenance and labor support for campus facilities, grounds, and infrastructure. Assists skilled maintenance personnel with preventative maintenance, repairs, construction projects, and general campus upkeep. Performs routine maintenance tasks while developing knowledge and skills across multiple facility trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Assist skilled maintenance personnel with repairs, installations, preventative maintenance, and construction projects.
- Transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites.
- Perform site preparation and cleanup before and after maintenance projects.
- Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout campus.
- Replace air filters, light bulbs, and other routine maintenance items.
- Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance projects.
- Support snow removal, storm cleanup, and special event setup and teardown.
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of maintenance work areas and storage locations.
- Clean and maintain the fountains on a scheduled weekly basis.
- Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite; this position is not remote or telecommute.
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures, including safety requirements and guidelines.
- Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance, and paid time-off requests.
- Follow a preventative maintenance schedule, as assigned by Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Minimum of 6 months of general labor experience required.
- Minimum of one year of maintenance, construction, landscaping, custodial, warehouse, or general labor experience preferred.
- Experience operating basic power equipment preferred.
- Experience working in a customer service environment preferred.
- Experience with pool cleaning or maintenance preferred.
- Basic computer skills; capable of data entry in an electronic time management system.

- Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
