Assistant, Maintenance II

About the role

Conduct maintenance and repairs on building components and workstations to ensure uninterrupted service during business hours.

Schedule

• Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs
• Onsite at 105 New Way Road, Columbia, SC 29223
• Some travel between buildings and occasional out-of-town travel

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance of plumbing, lighting, masonry, and carpentry areas
• Assemble, relocate, and repair modular office furniture and equipment
• Coordinate with project leaders to support the 3R process
• Respond to emergency calls after normal working hours

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 4 years of general maintenance experience
• Journeyman's card may substitute for 3 of the 4 years of required experience
• Good judgment and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency with standard office equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational school training in construction, trades, mechanical, or related fields
• 3 years of facility/general maintenance, heating/air conditioning, or modular furniture installation experience
• Training from a system furniture manufacturer or knowledge of inventory procedures
• Journeyman's card

Work Environment

• Occasional exposure to noise, dust, or heat
• Physical effort including heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds)
