Funeral Director Intern

Responsibilities

• Shadow all areas of the Funeral Home
• Under supervision of a Licensed Funeral Director, learn the processes and personal interactions involved in planning arrangements and running services
• Take the lead on arrangements after gaining experience and appropriate knowledge of service options, merchandise offerings, and the Snyder Way of conducting arrangements and planning/running services
• Work as a member of the Transfer Team during regular business hours and as a member of the On Call team
• Participate hands-on as a member of the Care Center Team, including dressing, casketing, embalming, and all steps required to prepare those in our care for services and final disposition
• Perform other duties as assigned, such as filing death certificates, creating and printing stationery, and crematory operations

Requirements

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Mortuary Science program
• Pennsylvania Funeral Director Intern License (or the ability to attain one)
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license
• English fluency; Spanish-speaking a plus but not required

$40,000–$45,000 per year

Full-time position with an on-call rotation
