Job Responsibilities
- Arrangements Conference: Receives or initiates calls to deceased next of kin, obtains or confirms contact information, schedules appointments, and emails confirmations.
- Care for Deceased: Gathers and cares for the deceased in a respectful manner, updates removal status in software, greets next of kin, and escorts them to meeting spaces.
- Facilitate Arrangements Conference: Summarize desired outcomes, discuss life insurance and benefits, promote funeral, cemetery, and crematory services, and transition to Funeral Services Counselor/Advisor.
- Direct Services: Preside as Master of Ceremonies for visitation, funeral, or graveside services, visually inspect services against contractual arrangements, and initiate corrective action if necessary.
- Event Planning: Plans and produces MeM products, sets up event rooms, and cleans up after events.
- Embalm: Cares for the deceased, verifies identification, cleans and embalms bodies, dresses caskets, and maintains preparation room.
Requirements
- Education & Licenses: Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science, certified as a Funeral Director and Embalmer.
- Experience: Industry experience preferred.

- Cognitive Ability: Reason, plan, identify problems, learn quickly, learn from experience, and apply learning to new situations.
- Process and Results Orientation: Motivated to keep projects moving ahead by removing obstacles and exploring alternatives.
- Communication Skills: Positive attitude, public speaking skills, proficient in databases, and MS Office.
- Physical Demands: Manual dexterity required, ability to push/pull up to 150 pounds, frequent periods of sitting and standing, and ability to climb stairs.
