Fundraising Director, Walk to End Alzheimer's

About the Role

As Director, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you will drive the success of a large walk event, leading a team of dynamic volunteer leaders. You will leverage proven sales and relationship management skills to achieve revenue goals through positive engagement with corporate and community volunteer leaders. Your role will exponentially increase brand awareness by cultivating relationships with key C-suite corporate and community partners. Success in recruiting, coaching, and empowering volunteers will ensure strong committee retention and succession planning, setting the event up for long-term success. You will coach and inspire volunteers, teams, and participants to set ambitious fundraising goals, propelling the event to national prominence.

Responsibilities

• Build sustainable corporate and community relationships to achieve organizational and revenue goals.
• Drive success and engagement with volunteers through coaching, recognition, and accountability.
• Provide inspirational leadership, oversight, and implementation of fundraising programs to meet or exceed revenue goals for mass-market and special events, as well as corporate sponsorship.
• Recruit, manage, and coach volunteers to implement best practices and achieve fundraising goals.
• Foster a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment to build long-term community and volunteer relationships.
• Manage volunteer-led mass-market events, preferably large-scale, to achieve year-over-year revenue growth.
• Surpass financial and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, and community partnerships.
• Prospect, cultivate, and steward teams, sponsors, and participants.
• Manage event budgets, train volunteers, utilize timelines, and translate data effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of proven experience recruiting and mobilizing volunteers and community leaders to achieve goals, preferably in a peer-to-peer fundraising environment OR 5-7 years of successful experience meeting sales targets.
• Demonstrated management skills, including setting clear goals, organizing projects, establishing and managing budgets, and creating accountability processes.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for identifying, recruiting, and engaging high-level and C-suite volunteer leadership.
• Strong volunteer management skills, including setting clear goals, identifying priorities, organizing projects, and managing budgets.
• Ability to build sustainable corporate and community relationships that contribute to achieving organizational and revenue goals.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and build an inclusive environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory by car (occasional overnight or air travel may be required). Must have a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, a good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs of materials.
• Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn, Luminate/Convio software.

Pay

The Alzheimer's Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between $62,000 - $78,000. There is a performance-based incentive opportunity up to $13,000, depending on portfolio size and achievement of quarterly goals.
