Fundraising Director, Walk To End Alzheimer'S
Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the second-largest peer-to-peer fundraising event in the U.S. and one of the fastest-growing walk events nationally. In 2024, it was again ranked #2 in peer-to-peer fundraising and achieved the largest dollar growth of any program in the top 30. As Director, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you will drive the success of a large walk event by leading a team of dynamic volunteer leaders. Your sales and relationship management skills will help achieve revenue goals through engagement with corporate and community volunteer leaders. As a community mobilizer and networker, you will increase brand awareness by cultivating relationships with key C-suite corporate and community partners. Your ability to recruit, coach, and empower volunteers will ensure strong committee retention and succession planning, setting the event up for long-term success. You will inspire volunteers, teams, and participants to set ambitious fundraising goals, positioning the event as one of the most successful in the country.
About the Role
This role is ideal if you have a track record of building sustainable corporate and community relationships that drive organizational and revenue goals. You thrive in providing positive engagement with volunteers through coaching, recognition, and accountability. Your experience in fundraising leadership has consistently met or exceeded revenue goals for mass-market or special events and corporate sponsorship. You excel at recruiting, managing, and coaching volunteers to implement best practices and achieve fundraising targets. Known as a uniter, you foster a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment that builds long-term community and volunteer relationships. Your background includes managing volunteer-led mass-market events, preferably large-scale, resulting in year-over-year revenue growth. You have a history of surpassing financial and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, and community partnerships. Your strengths include prospecting, cultivating, and stewarding teams, sponsors, and participants. You are comfortable managing event budgets, training volunteers, utilizing timelines, and translating data.
Responsibilities
- Drive the success of a large Walk to End Alzheimer’s event by leading a team of volunteer leaders.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of proven experience recruiting and mobilizing volunteers and community leaders to achieve goals, preferably in a peer-to-peer fundraising environment, or 5-7 years of successful experience meeting sales targets.
- Demonstrated management skills, including setting clear goals, organizing projects, establishing and managing budgets, and creating accountability processes.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for identifying, recruiting, and engaging high-level and C-suite volunteer leadership.

- Ability to work with diverse communities and build an inclusive environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory by car (time spent away from the office in the community to fulfill job goals). Occasional overnight or air travel may be required.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs of materials.
- Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with or ability to rapidly learn Luminate/Convio software.
Pay
The Alzheimer’s Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between $104,000 – $109,000. There is a performance-based incentive opportunity up to $13,000, depending on portfolio size and achievement of quarterly goals.
