About the role
The Funder is responsible for reviewing and funding closing documents for moderate to complex loan transactions. This role requires a strong understanding of current investor requirements and TRID (TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure) regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy throughout the closing process. The Funder performs a cross-functional role, supporting multiple aspects of loan closing operations based on daily pipeline needs.
Responsibilities
- Review loan files and closing packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines
- Generate and issue Closing Disclosures (CDs) in accordance with TRID requirements
- Draw and prepare loan documents in alignment with investor specifications
- Cook with internal teams such as underwriting, processing, closing, and post-closing to resolve conditions and ensure timely funding/purchasing
- Identify and address discrepancies or documentation issues prior to funding
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and adherence to timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Post journal entries and board loans to servicing platform
Qualifications
- HS Diploma required
- 1+ year of experience within Mortgage
- Experience in the closing department of a lender
- Must have in-depth knowledge of RESPA and TRID guidelines
- Must have the ability to draw closing documents through a third-party software (i.e. DocMagic)
- Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities and produce results
- Superb verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- Attention to detail is a must, along with a keen eye for identifying problems
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong math skills and computer literacy
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to perform multiple functions throughout the day as the need arises
- Knowledge of investor guidelines and suspense clearance for loan purchase
