About the role
Nomura's Fund Financing & Solutions desk is hiring a Trader in New York to manage a large and growing portfolio of loans. This operational role serves as the engine of the desk, focusing on the ongoing management of existing deals and coordination of new transactions. You will be the primary point of contact for stakeholders seeking insights on deal performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the ongoing portfolio of loans, including timely borrowing base receipt and review, covenant monitoring, and cash flow reconciliation of borrowing base reports.
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and provide accurate, timely information to the desk and stakeholders on existing deals.
- Coordinate the closing and syndication of new transactions, ensuring documentation is complete and onboarding/KYC requirements are met.
- Support the booking, monitoring, and maintenance of the desk's self-funding initiatives, new risk distributions, CDS transactions, and insurance policies.
- Actively manage the Fund Financing & Solutions pipeline.
- Design and build scalable technology and infrastructure to improve operational processes.
- Interface directly with sponsors, lenders, and internal teams (risk, legal, finance) to ensure smooth execution.
Requirements
- Two to five years of experience, ideally from fund administration, accounting, fund finance operations, or a trading/middle-office background.
- Precision with data and documentation, with strong organizational discipline to manage multiple reporting obligations.
- Proficiency in Excel; curiosity about leveraging technology to replace manual processes.
- Confidence in communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Pay
The expected base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is $110,000–$250,000. Total compensation may also include a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, discretionary awards, and benefits such as medical coverage, 401(k) eligibility, and paid time off (vacation, sick leave, parental leave).
