Vaco has partnered with an investment management & advisory client to onboard an Accounting Manager due to department growth. This role involves full-cycle accounting for both the parent company and associated funds. The team is described as outgoing and energetic, with positive feedback from a Vaco-placed Analyst.
Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions, including journal entries and expense accruals, and perform cash reconciliations across corporate entities, subsidiaries, and investment funds.
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes for the parent company, subsidiaries, and funds, ensuring accurate allocations and timely financial statements.
- Prepare quarterly investor reporting and support the preparation and review of investor capital accounts.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with control standards.
- Participate in daily team meetings to align on priorities, resolve issues collaboratively, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Partner cross-functionally with teams such as Investor Relations to support audit requests, ERP and system implementations, and broader organizational initiatives.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, including process automation, internal control testing, and support of financial models and cash flow forecasting.
- Help develop and maintain an accounting team calendar and task tracking system to ensure all deliverables are planned, monitored, and completed on time.
- Assist in coordinating with tax preparers, external auditors, and other third-party service providers as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA license or CPA eligibility strongly preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in public accounting, fund accounting, or a similar environment.
- Strong technical accounting foundation with a full command of debits, credits, internal controls, and control frameworks.
- Highly detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Pay
$130,000 - $160,000 base salary plus a 50% bonus.
