We are a solo-practice law firm defending landlords. Our practice focuses solely on landlord-tenant litigation. The ideal candidate has hands-on litigation experience, strong writing and research skills, and is comfortable independently managing deadlines and moving a high-volume caseload forward.

Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in landlord-tenant litigation, including unlawful detainer and related real estate disputes
- Draft pleadings, motions, notices, declarations, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents
- Conduct legal and factual research related to landlord-tenant issues, procedural requirements, and individual cases
- Prepare and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
- Organize and analyze leases, notices, payment histories, correspondence, property records, and other case evidence
- Assist attorneys with motion practice, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Prepare trial materials, exhibits, witness files, chronologies, and case summaries
- Manage litigation calendars, court deadlines, hearing dates, discovery deadlines, and filing requirements
- Coordinate court filings, e-filing, service of process, and communication with vendors
- Communicate with clients, property managers, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel regarding case-related matters
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files
- Monitor cases from initial filing through resolution, judgment, and post-judgment proceedings
- Provide attorneys with ongoing case status updates and identify upcoming deadlines or potential issues
Requirements
- Prior experience working as a litigation paralegal
- Experience supporting landlord-side landlord-tenant litigation strongly preferred but not required
- Unlawful detainer experience strongly preferred
- Strong legal drafting experience required
- Strong legal and factual research experience required
- Experience preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and filing requirements
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and multiple competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with attorneys
- Proficiency with legal research platforms, case management systems, Microsoft Office, and electronic filing systems
