About the Role
A Stepdown RN provides specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical units, requiring vigilant monitoring and complex interventions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities.
- Administer medications and treatments, assist during cardiac procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Observe, document patient responses, and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
- Respond to cardiac emergencies following protocols, and educate patients on cardiac health and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to safety and infection control standards.
Requirements
- One year of recent Stepdown RN experience.
- Valid RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Preferred certifications: PCCN, NIHSS.
- Critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to move equipment, work effectively with teams, and handle a fast-paced environment.
