Full Time Teller

About the Role

Perform transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with the highest accuracy. Maintain accurate transactional records, provide cash receipt and payment services, and promote credit union products and services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional member service, greeting members courteously and professionally, and providing prompt, accurate, and efficient transactions.
• Handle account services, including deposits, loan payments, check cashing, withdrawals, and selling cashier's checks and money orders.
• Verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and ensure accuracy in computer records.
• Process member requests such as wire transfers, address changes, stop payments, and cash advances.
• Maintain knowledge of credit union products and services, promoting them to members.
• Cross-sell products by answering inquiries, informing members of promotions, and directing them to branch representatives.
• Balance cash drawers, research and resolve discrepancies, and report issues to supervisors.
• Scan daily work, assist with teller functions, and ensure teller stations are stocked with necessary supplies.
• Serve in a dual control role when needed and maintain accurate data entry for member records and transactions.
• Adhere to security, internal control procedures, policies, and compliance requirements, including BSA, AML, OFAC, CIP, and MDD.
• Complete BSA/AML compliance training annually and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Six (6) months of cash handling or cross-selling experience preferred.
• Strong communication, mathematical, and general business knowledge.
• Accuracy, speed, customer relations, judgment, reliability, and relationship-building skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently or with limited supervision, handle multiple priorities, and maintain composure under stress.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, carry out written instructions, and follow oral instructions.
• Clear communication skills for effective staff/member interaction.
• Discretion in handling confidential matters and delivering high-quality customer service.

Physical Requirements

• Wrist/hand manipulation and restriction to workstation for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
• Close vision for computer monitor and document review.
• Standing for extended periods and clarity in speech and hearing.
• Travel to alternate branch locations as needed.

• Calculator, copy machine, currency counter, cash dispenser, cash advance terminal, ITM/ATM, and personal computer with Windows environment.
