About the role

The Sales Supervisor is a sales-driven leadership position responsible for achieving individual sales goals while setting the example for exceptional customer service and upholding company standards. In the absence of Store Management, the Sales Supervisor oversees store staff and serves as the most senior presence in the store.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership:
    • Lead by example in exceptional customer service and store standards
    • Serve as a James Perse brand ambassador
    • Assist Store Management in motivating the team to achieve and exceed sales goals and store KPIs
    • Represent and reinforce company standards and policies
    • Demonstrate expertise in product knowledge, company history, and brand values
    • Identify opportunities in product, sales, and team development; present strategic ideas to Store Management
    • Maintain local market knowledge of clientele and competitors
    • Stay aware of business trends relevant to store success
    • Articulate ideas clearly and tailor communication to the audience
    • Establish clear direction and gain the respect of the store team
    • Suggest local community partnerships
    • Contribute to a positive store atmosphere
    • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve business objectives
    • Communicate customer feedback to Store Management
  • Sales:
    • Achieve and exceed individual sales goals and company KPIs (UPT, ADT, etc.)
    • Ensure customers remain the top priority
    • Assist sales associates in suggesting additional merchandise to clients
    • Use styling, product, and luxury furniture knowledge for suggestive selling
    • Incorporate the James Perse lifestyle into the selling process
    • Build and develop a client base
    • Schedule client appointments
    • Proactively network to expand clientele
  • Customer Service:
    • Warmly greet all customers with a sincere welcome
    • Assist Store Management in prioritizing the customer experience
    • Facilitate consignments and client appointments based on customer needs
    • Elevate the level of customer service to differentiate the James Perse brand
    • Support staff in individualizing the customer experience
  • Supervisory:
    • Encourage collaboration among team members
    • Manage and maintain all aspects of the business in the absence of Store Management
    • Conduct store meetings (e.g., morning meetings) when Store Management is absent
    • Resolve customer issues and complaints satisfactorily
    • Ensure appropriate coverage of the sales floor
    • Ensure staff’s floor presence aligns with the James Perse brand
    • Assist Store Management in recruitment, onboarding, and training
    • Support Store Management in articulating company expectations
    • Monitor staff achievement of goals and hold them accountable through coaching
  • Operational:
    • Open and close the store, overseeing all procedures
    • Maintain store standards (cleanliness, maintenance, etc.)
    • Manage inventory
    • Uphold Visual Merchandising standards
    • Assist in merchandise movement (transfers, charge sends, etc.)
    • Ensure staff participates in replenishing product on the sales floor and maintaining back stock

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a luxury retail environment or similar industry
  • Prior experience in a retail luxury store dealing with high-end goods and clientele-oriented sales
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office)
  • Proficiency with Teamwork or similar retail systems
  • Cultivated and established clientele following (preferred)
  • Ability to relocate is preferable for career development opportunities
