Transitions Healthcare Washington PA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our clinical team. In this role, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to residents while working collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess residents' respiratory status and provide appropriate respiratory care and treatment.
  • Perform tracheostomy care, including tracheal suctioning and routine tracheostomy tube changes.
  • Initiate, monitor, and manage ventilator support in accordance with physician orders.
  • Administer respiratory medications via nebulizer, metered-dose inhaler (MDI), and other prescribed delivery methods.
  • Perform chest physiotherapy (CPT), cough assist treatments, and other airway clearance therapies as ordered.
  • Monitor oxygen therapy and evaluate resident response to treatment.
  • Accurately document treatments, assessments, and changes in resident condition.
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is properly maintained and functioning safely.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and changes in resident condition while following facility policies and clinical best practices.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required.
  • Current Pennsylvania Respiratory Therapist License in good standing required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, rehabilitation center, or acute care setting preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
