Position Summary
Performs routine and complex imaging examinations in Diagnostic Radiology, ensuring patient safety and high-quality results. Acts as a mentor and participates in training clinical staff, while supporting departmental operations under the manager's guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Examinations/Procedures: Conducts complex imaging procedures, reviews requisitions, evaluates patient data, and selects appropriate equipment and technical factors. Explains exams to patients, practices ALARA, and follows QC workflows.
- Patient/Family Relations: Provides a supportive environment by addressing patient and family needs.
- Equipment: Reports malfunctions via designated applications.
- Operations: Assists in organizing daily tasks, including supply management and QA/QC projects.
- Leadership: Supports departmental initiatives and promotes teamwork and morale.
- Training: Trains students, residents, fellows, and staff, serving as a mentor.
- General: Participates in meetings, maintains documentation, and adheres to policies including HIPAA and departmental standards.
- Professional Development: Continues education, maintains licensure/certification, and stays updated on regulations and policies.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Allied Health (Bachelors preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of Diagnostic Radiology experience
- Current MA Radiologic Technologist license, ARRT registration, and BLS certification
