Full Time Program Instructor - Central Texas Day Program

PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible for the curriculum and instruction of the Art and Education Program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsible for leading a group of individuals with engaging lesson plans while developing positive and professional relationships with staff, clients, families, community and provider partners. Oversight of record keeping and case notes in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Providing program and community growth. Meeting goals set forth by Art and Education Program Manager and Site Coordinator.

- Assist in managing the education, art studio, class instruction, client safety, client instruction, client behavior redirection, volunteers, and interns.
- Organize the classroom and supplies for efficiency.
- Promote community growth through relationship building.
- Participate in fundraising efforts.
Skills and Experience
- Experience teaching group classes.
- Teamwork, group leadership skills, and public speaking abilities.
- Computer proficiency, including database software.
- Patience and understanding when working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of promoting skill development through positive education.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid ID and drivers license with proof of car insurance.
- Background check required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using a computer and Microsoft products.
- Background in art and/or art instruction is a plus.

SCHEDULE
Full-time position available in Leander, Hutto, Marble Falls, and Austin.
