Full-Time Instructor
Job Summary
The Department of Philosophy at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a Full Time Instructor (FTI) beginning August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will teach eight courses per year (four per semester), at the undergraduate level. The AOS and AOC is open. The specific teaching assignment will depend on the candidate’s interests, but the department has particular needs in Introduction to Philosophy, Introductory Logic, Introduction to Ethics, Food Ethics, Health Care Ethics, Business Ethics, and Environmental Ethics. The position is a temporary (non-tenure-eligible) nine-month appointment that will begin in August 2026 and end in May 2027. The UK Philosophy department is a pluralistic department open to a wide range of approaches in philosophy. Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in Philosophy with a PhD preferred.
