Description & Requirements
The Outpatient Pharmacist at St. Luke’s Health System in Twin Falls, Idaho, plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care across various outpatient service areas. This position requires a combination of clinical expertise and strong collaboration skills.
- Review and evaluate the appropriateness of prescribed medication therapies.
- Interpret prescriptions and accurately compound and dispense medications.
- Provide medication information, counseling, and consultation to patients, nurses, and medical staff.
- Perform cognitive clinical pharmacy services and document interventions according to medical center standards.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as appropriate.
- Supervise, direct, and authorize the work of pharmacy technicians, interns, externs, and support staff.
- Maintain accurate records related to medication therapy, prescriptions, patient charges, inventory, and medical records.
- Support Meds-to-Beds and Transitions of Care services to improve patient outcomes and continuity of care.
- Aid in training and education of technicians, interns, externs, residents, and other pharmacy staff.
- Serve as a role model and mentor to students, technicians, residents, and new practitioners.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree from an accredited School or College of Pharmacy (PharmD or equivalent).
- Experience: 0 years of experience required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, through one of the following: American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross.
- Licenses & Certifications: Valid Pharmacist License in the state of practice (Idaho or eligible for licensure).
