Full Time Pet Resort Assistant

About the role

VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Pet Resort Assistant to join their team in Raleigh, NC. The hospital offers a variety of services including primary care, surgery, dog daycare, boarding, and pet resort spa services.

Responsibilities

• Walking dogs and providing scheduled bathroom breaks and exercise
• Feeding, medicating, and caring for dogs and cats while closely monitoring their wellbeing and behavior
• Preparing meals according to detailed instructions and administering oral medications as directed
• Supervising doggie daycare playgroups; splitting groups based on size and scheduling sessions
• Maintaining safety and communication with veterinarians and technicians regarding pet interactions
• Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, daycare yards, boarding areas, and hospital premises
• Assisting with laundry, dishwashing, and overall facility cleanliness
• Safely handling dogs and cats of various sizes, temperaments, and activity levels
• Supporting the veterinary and boarding teams as needed
• Remaining active throughout the shift and lifting up to 40 pounds when necessary

Pay

$16 - $18/hr, based on skill set and experience.

Schedule

(5) 8-hour shifts starting as early as 7AM and ending as late as 6PM. Weekend rotation required. Holiday rotation required.
