The Goodman Group is seeking a full-time Payroll Support Specialist to join their Finance team in a hybrid role based in Chaska, MN (remote option available after 90 days with manager approval).

About the role

The Payroll Support Specialist ensures payroll is processed accurately, compliantly, and on time for all Goodman Group companies. This role serves as a key contact for employees, resolving payroll-related issues and providing HR support related to the ADP system.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to Help Desk emails and calls in a timely manner; delegate, log, and track ticket status.
  • Support field employees by troubleshooting issues and following standard Help Desk procedures.
  • Identify and escalate urgent situations; recommend process improvements or notify leadership of recurring issues.
  • Process assigned payrolls confidentially, accurately, and on time, taking ownership of designated payroll companies.
  • Manage workflow to ensure timely and accurate payroll completion.
  • Reconcile payroll before transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Process new hires from the HR Applicant Tracking System.
  • Ensure garnishment calculations and compliance requirements are met.
  • Handle pay card transactions as needed.
  • Address employee questions or concerns regarding payroll discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist in implementing payroll processing efficiencies and act as a technical payroll resource.
  • Administer the electronic timekeeping system, monitor FLSA compliance, and ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll.
  • Apply wage and hour laws and oversee preparation of earnings, taxes, and deductions reports (upon request).
  • Process and respond to employment verifications, unemployment inquiries, and requests for information.

Requirements

  • 2-year college degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of full payroll processing experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax jurisdiction rules affecting payroll preparation.
  • Experience processing multi-state payrolls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with supervisors, team members, and employees.

Pay

$65,000–$75,000 per year.
