Full-time Patient Appointment Technician

Overview

The Patient Appointing Technician (PAT) role at Global Connections to Employment (GCE) involves scheduling appointments in the Composite Health Care System (CHCS)/Armed Forces Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) for various medical care needs. GCE, established in 1986, is one of the largest private employers of persons with disabilities, serving U.S. military, commercial businesses, and government entities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments as needed, including for consult/referral specialty care in MTFs, civilian facilities, and via secure messaging.
• Facilitate the recapture of MTF direct care capabilities, track referrals, and ensure all results of treatment are returned to a HIPAA-compliant patient medical record.
• Use Microsoft Office products as needed (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Requirements

• Experience in a customer service-related industry, with preferred training/experience in medical office scheduling.
• Keyboarding skills or alternate technology for data input.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to obtain and maintain a position of public trust vetting, pass a government security investigation, and meet eligibility requirements.

Additional Information

• Compensation: $20.00 per hour, with H&W dollars applied ($5.09 per eligible hour).
