Full-Time Paraprofessional - Special Education

About the role

Support students with special needs in a classroom setting under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing lesson plans and activities as directed by the teacher.
• Provide individualized attention to students to support their learning needs.
• Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with other special education staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Indiana teaching license or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
• Experience working with students with special needs is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills including keyboarding and email usage.

Skills

• Knowledge of special education principles and practices.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Pay

$14.50 per hour

Schedule

7 hours per day, 180 days per school year
