About the role

The Assistant Community Manager will lease apartments and work with the Residential Manager in the general administration of the property. Duties will vary based on the size of the residential community and the supervising Residential Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lease apartments
  • Work with the Residential Manager in the general administration of the property
  • Perform all related leasing, operational, administrative, and bookkeeping functions
  • Think rationally beyond a specific set of instructions
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to a variety of practical situations
  • Compute rental amounts, prorates, discounts, percentages, and basic math computations
  • Operate various office equipment such as fax/copy machine, vacuum, telephone, typewriter, calculator
  • Be computer literate or willing to be trained
  • Resolve resident and prospect problems
  • Interact with all types of people professionally and effectively
  • Avoiding any deviation from standardized procedures
  • Assist in the performance of the Community Manager’s duties in their absence

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Prior apartment management, sales, and administrative experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Current liability insurance coverage
  • Tax credit experience preferred (when applicable)

Qualifications

  • Legible penmanship and accurate typing skills
  • The ability to compute rental amounts, prorates, discounts, percentages, and basic math computations
  • The ability to operate fax/copy machine, vacuum, telephone, typewriter, calculator
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work with figures and make bank deposits
  • The ability to think rationally beyond a specific set of instructions
  • The ability to assist in the performance of the Community Manager’s duties in the Manager’s absence
