About the Role

The Full-Time Nurse (LPN) at The Next Door Recovery provides nursing care for clients within a continuum of evidence-based substance abuse and mental health services for women. This position is full-time, non-exempt, and requires a minimum of 36 hours per week, including two holiday shifts per year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinically excellent care throughout the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for persons withdrawing from addiction to alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines, and/or other substances.
  • Deliver direct nursing services for clients in each level of care as needed or directed by a supervisor.
  • Administer medications at scheduled times or as needed for PRN over-the-counter medications.
  • Execute all required activities and services for patient admission and discharge to/from detox and various program levels.
  • Collaborate with the medical leadership team to develop and revise policies, procedures, and clinical protocols for patient care.
  • Coordinate an interdisciplinary team approach to client care with program and medical leadership.
  • Adhere to the Standards of Addictions Nursing Practice, including Standards of Care and Standards of Professional Performance.
  • Maintain compliance with Tennessee Board of Nursing Laws, Rules, and Regulations.
  • Report clinical incidents to the medical leadership team.
  • Model therapeutic communication techniques, such as motivational interviewing, to maintain a therapeutic milieu.
  • Maintain clinical documentation to meet organization, state, and federal requirements.
  • Assist with triaging clients for further evaluation by providers.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment in the medical suites.
  • Stay current with mandatory continuing education and training to maintain licensure and certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the medical leadership team.

Requirements

  • Valid unrestricted Tennessee LPN/RN license required.
  • ASN or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an LPN/RN preferred.
  • Experience working with psychiatric disorders and alcohol/substance use disorders preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to triage medical and psychiatric concerns and determine appropriate dispositions.
  • CPR Certification required.

Schedule

Full-time, non-exempt position requiring a minimum of 36 hours per week, including two holiday shifts per year. Opportunity to pick up additional shifts outside of regularly scheduled hours.
