About the role
The Library and Information Science (LIS) Department in the School of Communication and Information (SC&I) at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, seeks a professional and innovative full time non-tenure track (NTT) instructor to teach multiple sections of programming courses in the Information Technology and Informatics program.
Responsibilities
- Teach multiple sections of programming courses focusing on Python programming fundamentals, data engineering, and data science.
- Contribute to the success of the IT & Informatics major through activities such as student advising, course and curriculum management, and peer teaching evaluations.
- Teach four courses per semester plus service, or the equivalent in combinations of teaching and service.
Requirements
- PhD in Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience teaching programming courses at the college level.
- Strong background in Python programming, data engineering, and data science.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
