About the role

The Inn at Canaan is seeking a Full-Time Mini-Golf Attendant to join their hospitality team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a growing property, with plans for luxury suites and cabins. The ideal candidate loves interacting with people and making a positive impact on guests' lives.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and provide appropriate services, assistance, and general information.
  • Ensure the miniature golf course area is safe and patrons are participating in a safe manner.
  • Prepare and maintain golf course and restroom facilities by cleaning, sweeping, restocking supplies, and disposing of trash.
  • Supervise birthday parties, group outings, and other rental functions.
  • Answer telephone and provide information regarding facility operations, activities, and functions.
  • Plan, create, and carry out appropriate program activities.
  • Arrange supplies and equipment for participants/staff; ensure equipment and supplies are functioning properly.
  • Respond immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.
  • Administer first aid if needed.

Requirements

  • Skills in the principles and techniques of customer service.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly walks, stands, stoops, kneels, crouches, pushes, pulls, bends, and reaches with hands and arms.
  • May lift, carry, and/or move objects or materials weighing up to 25 pounds, and may occasionally lift, carry, and/or move objects or materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and for conveying detailed or important instructions to others.
  • Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, to receive detailed information through oral communications, and/or to make fine distinctions in sound.
  • Visual acuity is required for operation of machines and equipment, analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.

Work Environment

  • Outdoor environment subject to seasonal temperatures, adverse weather conditions, wetness, slippery surfaces, humidity, dust, dirt, fumes, insect bites/stings, garbage, and other dangers and distractions associated with a park setting.
  • Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and allergenic substances, as well as blood and body fluids when rendering first aid.
  • Near moving mechanical parts or systems.
  • Noise level may be loud in the golf course setting; the worker may have to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • Interact with distressed or upset staff and/or patrons in interpreting and enforcing policies and procedures.
