About the role
Lead Medical Technologist responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight in the laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily laboratory activities and personnel management
- Perform biochemical and hematologic testing, investigate abnormal results
- Monitor quality control, inventory, and maintain a safe work environment
- Participate in performance improvement, evaluate new testing methods, and manage laboratory data
- Correlate abnormal results with pathologic states for validity and follow-up testing
- Teach and train laboratory staff and students, and assist with employee orientation
- Primary testing focus in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and related areas
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science; certification preferred
- Blood Bank experience required
- MT (ASCP)/CLS certification or subspecialty certification
- Minimum three years of experience in an accredited hospital laboratory
