FULL TIME M-F EVENINGS Registered Nurse

Mental Health Resource Center is looking for Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide and oversee quality and compassionate care for patients at our Northside and Southside inpatient psychiatric facilities. The crisis stabilization units serve adults and children, with most patients admitted involuntarily under Florida’s Baker Act. The typical length of stay is 3-5 days. This fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment fosters teamwork and collaboration among staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient admissions and discharges
• Take and implement doctor’s orders
• Administer medication and provide routine and emergency medical care
• Assess patient needs and problems, then plan care in cooperation with the treatment team
• Monitor and observe patients, and oversee care provided by Behavioral Healthcare Assistants
• Ensure services comply with Quality Assurance Standards for Behavioral Health Services and Joint Commission standards
• Maintain complete, confidential, and accurate clinical records, including documentation, paperwork, and system entries that meet internal and external guidelines for content, accuracy, and timeliness

Requirements

• Valid State of Florida Registered Nurse license
• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Experience in medical-surgical and/or psychiatric nursing
• Ability to make sound, independent decisions and demonstrate good judgment, including recognizing and responding appropriately to emergencies and life-threatening situations
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact appropriately with internal and external customers, including families, caregivers, community service providers, supervisory staff, and other department professionals
