Full-Time Light Equipment Operator/Laborer

About the Role

Full‑time Light Equipment Operator/Laborer to support maintenance and operations of township roads and property. The position involves operating vehicles and equipment and performing physical road/property maintenance in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate township vehicles and tractors.
• Maintain and repair township roads.
• Operate equipment during snow and ice control as required.

Training Provided

• Front‑end loader safety and cinder loading.
• On‑the‑job instruction for equipment operation during winter weather.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Capability to handle heavy manual labor and adapt to adverse weather conditions.
• Demonstrated safe operation of equipment and openness to learning new skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• At least one year’s experience with standard‑shift vehicles and outdoor work.

Preferred Qualifications

Valid Class B Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Roadmaster and Sewer Manager.
