Full-Time Licensed Therapist- Recreation/Music/Art

About the role

Signet Health manages the Behavioral Health Services for Medstar Washington Hospital Center and is seeking a full-time Recreational, Music, or Art Therapist. This role involves utilizing therapeutic applications of recreation, art, or music to help adults achieve emotional, mental, and physical well-being. The therapist will design and implement activities tailored to individualized needs, focusing on fostering effective interactions, enhancing coping skills, improving cognitive functioning, promoting reality orientation, and prioritizing independence in self-care.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, when necessary.
• Participates in agency-wide training programs and in-services.
• Assists with adherence to programming schedules as required.
• Provides quality and timely clinical documentation per Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies’ requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency in interpersonal communication and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Experience and skill in providing leisure activities to patients with various types and presentations of psychiatric/behavioral health disorders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience.
• Flexibility to adjust to the needs of a fast-paced environment, effective problem-solving skills, and excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Previous adult behavioral health experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Active District of Columbia Recreation Therapy license.

Pay

Full-time annual salary range: $65,000 – $75,000, based on experience.
