Full-Time Lecturer - Engineering Technology (AY 26/27) Solano Campus
Responsibilities
This position involves teaching core and elective Engineering Technology courses. Responsibilities include:
- Teaching a variety of Engineering Technology courses at the undergraduate level.
- Collaborating with colleagues in the Engineering Technology department to develop and implement curricula.
- Assessing student learning outcomes and providing feedback to students.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and incorporating them into course content.
Requirements
Requirements for this position include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching.
- Experience with laboratory-based instruction.
- Industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree or higher in engineering, engineering technology, or engineering management.
- A current U.S. Coast Guard 2nd Engineer license or higher with appropriate STCW endorsements.
- Experience in more than one technical area, engineering leadership role experience, and/or leadership training experience.

- Proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.

Pay
The initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
- Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677
- Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224
- Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523
- Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211
Schedule
The schedule for this position is a two-year appointment beginning AY 26/27 and ending AY 27/28. There is a possibility of a one-year extension to AY 28/29 contingent on budget, department need, and satisfactory evaluations.
